Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to know. This page explains how to tell us and what happens next.
How to send one
Write to contact@zodiac.baby with the word correction somewhere in the subject line. Nothing more formal is needed.
What helps us check it
- the address of the page, or enough of the title for us to find it;
- the sentence or the section you are looking at;
- what it says, and what you believe it should say;
- where your version comes from, if it comes from somewhere we can look.
You do not need to prove anything to raise it. A reader saying "this does not look right" is a perfectly good reason for us to go and check.
Three different things
A factual error is a statement about the world that is untrue: a mechanism described wrongly, a date range that does not match the sky, a definition used incorrectly. These are corrected as soon as we have confirmed them, and the page carries a dated note saying what changed.
A material update is a page that was accurate and is now incomplete or out of step. These are rewritten where needed and the piece shows an update date.
A small fix is a typo, a broken link, a clumsy sentence, a drawing that does not sit properly on a narrow screen. These are simply mended, without a note, because a note would be more disruptive than the error.
What is not a correction
Disagreeing with a reading is not an error, and we mean that warmly. The twelve descriptions are interpretation, and a parent who tells us their Capricorn toddler is a whirlwind is not catching us out. That is what reading a lens rather than a label means in practice.
We are still glad to hear it, because a description that keeps failing for real children is a description worth rewriting.
What happens then
We read everything that arrives. Confirmed factual errors are fixed and the page says so. Where a correction changes the substance of a piece, the note stays on the page rather than being tidied away later.
A record of corrections appears here once there is one to show. We are not going to invent entries to make the page look busy.
