Privacy

This page explains how Zodiac Baby handles the information connected with reading and using the site.

In effect from 18 September 2026.

In one paragraph

Zodiac Baby is made of static pages. It asks you for nothing, stores one preference in your own browser, and measures audience statistics through a single service so we can see which pages are useful. You can object to that measurement at any time without losing access to anything.

Who is responsible

Zodiac Baby is responsible for this site and for the decisions described on this page. For anything about privacy, including a request about your own data, write to contact@zodiac.baby. That address reaches the people who can act on it.

What the site never asks you for

  • a name, an email address or a date of birth;
  • an account, a login or a password;
  • a form of any kind, because there is no form to submit;
  • payment details through a form on this site.

If you choose to write to us by email, we hold that message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a sensible record of the exchange, and we do not use it for anything else.

Audience measurement

In Brazil, restricted statistical measurement relies on legitimate interest. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics starts only after your permission. In other identified countries, measurement starts on arrival with an opt-out. If we cannot identify the country, Google Analytics stays off until you allow it in your preferences. Your saved refusal is respected in every region. Cloudflare also provides performance and audience measurement through its infrastructure, according to the domain configuration, without Google Analytics cookies. This measurement is independent of the Google Analytics preference.

Audience measurement uses Google Analytics, provided by Google, and it is there to show which pages are read, roughly where readers arrive from, and which kinds of writing are worth more of. It is configured for statistics about the site, not for profiles about people: advertising signals, personalisation and cross site association are switched off, and we send it no identifier of our own.

What it may process is the page you looked at, the site or search that sent you, an approximate location derived from your connection, and the general type of device and browser you use. It may set its own cookies for that counting. Those cookies are not strictly necessary for the site to work, and we do not describe them as if they were.

Where the rules that apply to you require your permission before any such measurement, none of it runs until you have given that permission, and a refusal is a refusal rather than a delayed yes. Where a legitimate interest in understanding our own audience is the correct basis, the measurement is kept to the restricted, statistical form described above and you can object at any time. Either way, nothing about your reading is used to build a profile, sold, or shared with anyone for their own purposes.

Use “Visit measurement” in the footer to change your choice. You can also write to contact@zodiac.baby, or block the service in your browser, or install Google's own opt out extension. Any of the three works, and none of them costs you access to a single page.

What is kept in your browser

Your measurement preference is kept in this browser. If you press the night mode button in the header, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage so the other pages match. It stays on your device, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it. If storage is blocked, the site simply opens light every time and everything else works normally.

Who else is involved

The pages, illustrations and fonts are served from our own hosting, so reading this site does not call out to a third party for its appearance. Google processes the analytics data described above, and may do so on servers outside the country you are reading from, under the safeguards Google publishes for that service.

Children

This site is written for adults. It is about children, which is a different thing, and it is not designed for or directed at them. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact address, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Every one of those requests goes to the same address: contact@zodiac.baby.

Because the site does not ask you for anything, in most cases the honest answer to "what do you hold about me" is an analytics record that is not tied to your name and any email you have sent us.

Links to other places

Where we link out, the site at the other end has its own rules and we do not control them.

Changes to this page

If what the site does changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top moves. Where a change needs your permission, we will ask for it rather than assume it.
