The parent you already are
Your children are allowed to be themselves, and they know it without being told.
That sounds like a slogan until you meet the alternative. Aquarius parents do not panic about a child who is unusual. The odd interest is not steered towards something more useful. The friend nobody else’s parents approve of is assessed on their merits. A child who does not fit is simply a child, and the relief of that is enormous and lifelong.
You also explain. You give reasons rather than orders, and you are willing to be argued with by a five year old and to lose. Your children grow up able to think, to disagree respectfully, and to notice when something is unfair.
The hour that tests you
It is the moment somebody wants to be held and will not say so.
Uranus gives you distance as a natural setting, and you are comfortable there. But Cancer, Pisces, Taurus and Leo children do not experience your cool as calm; they experience it as a door closing. And because you dislike being pursued yourself, you are slow to read the pursuit in them.
The second thing is that clinginess genuinely irritates you, and irritation is legible to a small person long before words are. A child who feels the irritation does not become less clingy. They become clingy and ashamed.
What to do with that
Initiate the physical warmth rather than waiting to be asked. Not a lot. Often. It is the single change that alters the most in a house run by an Aquarius parent.
Hold the rules you set even after they have stopped interesting you. Your lapses feel to you like flexibility and to an earth or fixed child like the ground moving.
And keep doing the thing you are best at. Take the strange interest seriously, defend the unusual child, explain the reason. Nobody else in the zodiac does that quite as naturally, and the children who get it carry it for the rest of their lives.
